8Bitdo N30 Wireless Controller Gamepad Classic Bluetooth Video Game Joystick for Android/PC/Mac OS/Switch

The look and feel of this controller is great. I automatically flashback to the days of gaming on my old NES. Though this controller also has the LR buttons and two additional buttons. Still, it's a good approximation with the added feature of being Bluetooth.However, I have to strike 2 stars off of this. When using the controller, it frequently misses button presses, presses more than once, etc etc. It's almost unusable. Luckily for the buyer, I typically play turn-based NES games, and this is less of an issue, but if you are getting this to play Tetris or any time-based action reliant game, I think you should probably pass on this.Edit: I'm going to actually up this one star after I discovered that the issue was only happening on my android tablet. When using it on my Windows 11 laptop, this works fine. The tablet is a Samsung Galaxy Tab S8+ (high quality tablet), so I assume it's a general android issue.

Yet do not interpret the star rating and the title of this review. There is more at play with the situation with this product. This I write as someone with a physical disability who, because of physical limitations, really benefits from having working wireless and/or bluetooth peripherals. I am using this, for the moment, as only Bluetooth on a Windows PC. Bluetooth randomly drops and you have to remove device and re-pair. It crashes my emulators because as soon as the emulator detects connection has been lost, it gives an error message where you cannot even salvage your save game progress. If gaming is just casual for you and a part of your life, then this is probably more than adequate. Others in difference situations akin to mine may just be more let down.Final note, it is not nearly as responsive, obviously, to an actual NES/SNES controller. To use an example, specifically for NES Tetris, it has too many latency issues from the bluetooth that your movements that need to be calculated and swift so blocks can be played properly are often slip ups that get it placed in a way counterintuitive to your skill level.TL;DR You will not play games as well as on console with this controller in Bluetooth mode. If not a different controller, mapping a keyboard would work better. Also, the battery life drains WAY faster than many have told me this type of controller does. That is yet another problem because it gives you no warning before it just stops and you lose maybe a lot of in-game progress because you could not save game before controller battery runs out and emulator crashes. I believe better can be achieved. We are not there yet.

It works great and I love using it for Tetris. Many other comments mention bad buttons, but it is not jarring enough to loose a star for that. I would to have loved to see a usb-c or any other connector but micro-b, because that will significantly cut into the number of charges it can take.
